AHIPP Membership
Our parent company Legal Brokers Ltd are members of AHIPP.
AHIPP is the Association of Home Information Pack Providers.
Founded in 2005 the Association was established to provided representation and support for professional HIPs providers. There are in excess of 100 members.
AHIPP wrote the "The HIPcode" as a guideline to individuals and businesses who generate HIPs (ie. a minimum standard to which firms, in theory, agree to adopt).
In the event a question arises with respect to a specific HIP or a larger technical issue... AHIPP are the chaps who find out & provide the answers.
Additionally AHIPP deal with all the major political parties inorder to "manage" any problems that might arise in the ongoing development of the HIPs process.
An example of this is the work that's being done with "Exchange Ready HIPs".
From our perspective as a HIPs business we originally signed up to the HIPcode, in 2007, but quickly discovered that when we came across a technical querry.... and called the Department of Communities & Local Government for an answer.... they didn't have a clue what to say.
We found this a tad disconcerting & realised that the only chaps who could help, and were essentially directing the practical roll out of the HIPs process, were AHIPP.
Over and above the cost of the HIPcode Registration it costs an additional amount to be members of AHIPP... but we take the view that the support they provide is invaluable.
You wouldn't use an Estate Agent who wasn't a member of the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) or a Solicitor who wasn't a member of the Law Society or a Mortgage Broker who wasn't registered with the Financial Services Authority.....
Hence whether choose us to do your HIP or not... it makes sense to use a HIPs firm that has the backing of AHIPP....
